Joe and Brian decide to go to a hockey game in Boston. They ask Antonio to man the counter. He gives the last seat to an old woman. And then a guy who says he was booked to go on the flight arrives. But because he was late Antonio gave away the last seat. He says that he will regret it. Joe and Brian return and say the game was disappointing because the star player wasn't there. And Antonio tells them about the guy and they learn it was the hockey player. He later goes on the air and blames Sandpiper for missing the game. John Allen Hill, a famous Manhattan restaurateur, has bought Melville's, which Rebecca thinks is going to boost business for Cheers. Hill and Sam's relationship starts off slowly and gets worse and worse. The first spoken threat from Hill is the fact that he actually owns the property of the bar's pool room and washrooms, implying that he wants Sam to meet all his demands or else. Hill wants a floor mat at the bottom of the interior stairs and wants to use the bar as the restaurant's lounge which includes treating Cheers' staff as Melville's staff. And a consequence of Hill's ownership of Melville's is that the bar is filled with a different yuppie clientele, who most importantly don't know that Norm's bar stool is only for Norm. But the last straw for Sam is that Hill wants his parking spot back, which Sam has always used to park his beloved Corvette. During an exercise an F-14 Tomcat clips the top of a utility tower in Nevada. The two aviators eject and survive, and the aircraft crashes into a desert; however, burning debris from the crash kills a mother and a baby in a car on an adjacent road. Mac joins them from Washington to represent the pilot, who has requested a lawyer. While Harm recreates the fateful flight, he gives Mac a ride in a Tomcat; she finds it challenging. The evidence appears to implicate the CO of the involved squadron, who was a mentor and one of the instructors of Harm while he was in flight school.
